Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, LLP Web Site Redesign
Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, LLP (San Diego) recently decided to revamp their image and update their technology. Buchanan Design (San Diego) created their new logo and corporate ID materials. After almost five years of a very successful RosArt built & maintained web presence, RosArt was once again contracted to do the development of the new site, with the mandate that it match the new image.
More than just a simple "face-lift", the new site includes a back end Admin. This will allow firm staff to update all major areas of the site quickly, easily and securely, with no knowledge of any programming languages. Adam Milazzo (lead programmer on the project) has this to say about the new site:
"While it may not be apparent by just looking at the site, we actually developed some exciting new technologies for the redesigned HF&M site. These technologies will allow RosArt to develop higher-quality web sites in less time and at a lower cost. One major feature is that updates and bugfixes can automatically affect every web site using the new system, so if a problem is fixed on any site, it will be fixed for every site.
"In effect, it turns the age-old problem of web site maintenance around. In the past, maintaining more sites resulted in more work to apply updates and bugfixes, with the inevitable problem that some sites may be missed or improperly patched. But as more sites use the new system, more eyes will be focused on them, increasing the likelihood of finding any problems. And since problems can be fixed in a central location, having more sites using the new system results in a more rapid increase of the overall quality of every site using that system."
The new site technology provides many other features and is continually evolving. RAMEN will provide a more detailed editorial about this project in an upcoming
Coming Up Roses column.
