Case Study
Diego & Son Printing
Diego
and Son Printing, in San Diego, was in the middle of revising their corporate image. They had built a new office for themselves that would take their outward appearance up to a level of quality and dependability that they were previously unable to achieve at their former warehouse space. With this makeover of their public image, they hired RosArt Studios to create a comparable quality of image in their printed materials.
Having worked on projects produced by RosArt Studios in the past, they knew that RosArt was up to
the challenge of designing a new style for their printed, corporate-identity materials.
To start with, we decided that all new materials should be based on the look of their new corporate offices. The new building was a beautiful structure, built with Spanish mission-style architecture and stucco siding. To tie the printed materials to the office building, we created a stucco texture that matched the stucco siding of the new offices. Text used on letterhead, envelopes, business cards, presentation folders, and other materials, was given the effect of being engraved into the stucco textures.
In that they had just moved their facilities, we also wanted to build into the designs a way of explaining where the new offices were located. The new facility was built near the very prominent landmark of the Coronado Bay Bridge in San Diego, and so we used the idea of a shadow of the bridge playing across the building surface, to show that the new offices were located very near the well-known profile of Coronado Bay Bridge.
Many of the printed materials also include structural elements of the new building, such as a bell tower. Photography of the interior was shot on large-size film, in order to capture a high amount of detail for their printers to show off the quality levels of their printing.
