English and vanHorne, P.C.

English & van Horne, P.C. (www.eandvh.com) has practiced immigration law in Michigan for over thirty years. Located in the historic Penobscot Building in downtown Detroit, the firm is dedicated to providing consistent superior performance and service to its immigration law clients.

English & van Horne has been a RosArt client since the very beginning of the firm's "web life," starting out with a hosting account. (In fact, their first domain name was purchased through Da Web Works RosArt's hosting division.) One of our original hosting clients, the firm later came back to RosArt in need of web site re-design.

English & vanHorne needed a web-crafting company that could not only build the right web presence (creatively and functionally), but could also prove it knows what law firms require on the web. After showcasing our other law firm sites, firm senior partner Jack English (a pillar of Detroit business) decided he wanted to meet RosArt CEO José Rosa in person.

Meeting face to face resulted in the "personal touch" necessary in making a long-distance business relationship feasible and successful. Even though all future work was to be done via phone, fax, the Web, and the secure extranet area on www.rosart.com, we recognized the value in having at least one face to face meeting.

English & van Horne prides itself on the quality of service it provides to all of its clients, corporate and individual, in complying with complex US immigration laws and regulations. It was decided to ensure that the web site would act as a resource, versus a simple online brochure, by including updated Immigration News, Immigration Info, and Resource Links pages.

Also, as a manifestation of the firm's dedication to accessibility, the web site served as yet another means through which potential clients could contact the firm. The site would help expedite the initial communication process, providing answers to common questions and an overview of the firm.

Due to the niche of law practiced at English & vanHorne, RosArt has been very flexible in helping the firm adjust its web presence to its changing business goals and needs. At the start, the firm's main client base consisted of automobile companies (namely Ford). One of the original goals was to create a site that integrated relatively seamlessly with the Ford site. Another goal was to use online applications and forms.

The vision for the web site has changed, however, as the English and vanHorne business has changed.

The firm is moving in a new direction, and RosArt has been helping to pave the way. In an effort to diversify their client base and take advantage of the nearby Canadian border, English and vanHorne contracted RosArt to take on the promotional campaign of the web site. This means positioning the site correctly in the top search engines, and targeting the right audience to bring in more new contacts.

The development process with English and vanHorne has required a degree of patience, flexibility, and understanding of the firm's changing needs, and has proven that a long-distance relationship can indeed work.
